Review: Inferno SKALS Book 4 by Adriana Noir

Standard

It’s 2:50 in the morning. I got this book 8 hours ago. I am sitting on the floor in my kitchen with a box of Kleenex and an empty bottle of Chianti. Both were full when I started this book, neither were strong enough to see me through it’s pages without ripping my heart out and feeding it to me.

This is the last installment in the SKALS series. This review is probably the hardest I will ever write. It’s an ending. A last goodbye to a series that has literally changed my perspective on a great many things.

When Sebastian flashed his badge and demanded my attention in Sinister Kisses, I wanted to hate him. I tried to hate him. And Taylor…she knocked the women’s lib movement back a hundred years. But as I turned the last page of Inferno, I realized that this author has achieved the impossible. She gave the most cynical, jaded reader on the planet a series that made her FEEL. From the first page of the first book to the last page of the last book, I felt every single word. I laughed, I cried, I freaked out, I got scared, nervous, anxious. I got mad.

I fell in love with a character whose very nature was abhorrent to me.

I have NEVER, in all my extensive years of reading, connected with characters like this before. Watching Sebastian and Taylor grow together was like watching the spark of a match slowly becoming a beautiful, raging fire.

Inferno far surpassed any expectations I may have had. It ended in a way that was so far from predictable that when I shut off my Kindle, I realized it is as it should be. This was by far the most gripping, emotional and painful book in the series. I’m not an hour out of reading it and I am already feeling the full effects of what is sure to be THE biggest book hangover I will ever experience.

There aren’t enough words in the English language to convey all of my thoughts on this book, and, indeed the series. I encourage you to step outside of your comfort zone and experience it for yourself.

I don’t know what Adri has in store next, but I can’t wait to find out xoxo
